Hagood Mill Historic Site and Folk Life Center
138 Hagood Mill Rd
Pickens, SC 29671
(864) 898-2936
Three miles north of Pickens, South Carolina is, perhaps, one of the most charming sites in the upcountry of the Carolinas. Just a stone’s throw past Master’s Grocery & Dolls and a short stretch before the Cherokee Foothills Scenic Highway 11, you will come across Hagood Mill Road. Once you turn onto this road, cross the Hagood Branch and turn into the driveway of the old Hagood Grist mill, you will have entered a path down the trail of our regional history and of a way of life oft’ times forgotten.
Owned by the County of Pickens, Hagood Mill has been the site of ongoing development as a significant cultural heritage site in the upcountry of South Carolina. Heritage based music, traditional crafts, folk life and living history presentations are just part of the regular offerings to be enjoyed at this wonderful old gristmill.
Private and school tours are given by appointment.
Special events are held rain or shine on the third Saturday of every month, be sure to check below for upcoming dates!
