Lake Hartwell

A southern wonder, Lake Hartwell is one of the Southeast’s largest and most popular recreation destinations. This beautiful body of water connects Georgia and South Carolina, with flowing water from the Savannah, Tugaloo and Seneca Rivers to make the 75,000-acre land and water Hartwell Dam Project.

The lake is easily accessible with upwards of forty public access points in the Clemson and surrounding area. Campers are easily accommodated with plentiful campgrounds along the shoreline of Lake Hartwell. The Lake Hartwell State Park is a popular destination for camping and lake visitors with 115 paved campsites and access to the lake for boating, swimming and fishing. The park also contains walking trails and two courtesy docks for visitor use.
